There's a company called Social Intelligence Corporation. The Federal Trade Commission(FTC) has given them the green light to collect your online activities on social networking sites. This info is made available to employers who are looking for "better" employees. Social Intelligence Corp. says they only keep info that relates to breaking the law, drug & alcohol dependency, and anything that employers can ask legally when considering a new hire.
Now, it appears banks are interested in this info when considering who to loan money to.
How would you do if the last 7 years of your social networking activity was stapled to a job application, or a loan application ?
Who'll be next in line top get this info ?? Will it get to the point where you pay $50 and get a profile on someone before you go on a date ?? Sort of like Car-Fax. Car-Fax gives a person a history of an automobile before they buy it.
Now, I would say that some things are just common sense but I think you know that common sense ain't common. Any info, pictures, updates or whatever you post on the Internet NEVER goes away. Why would you want to get into the habit of exposing all of your conquests, bad habits, "secrets," addictions or "bad looks" to the cyber world in the first place? I'm not trying to get into any judgement here but I think this info can help us curtail the free-ness of our freedom of speech for our own good and reputation. Just a thought...
